    [Event Report] 18th Annual German-Japanese Colloquium

The 18th Annual German-Japanese Colloquium was held at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) from March 17 to 18, 2025, jointly organized by the University of Stuttgart, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Bonn Office, and Seijo University.

Under the common theme “The Future of the Humanities in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” a lively and passionate exchange of views took place between the speakers and the audience on the role and use of AI in humanities research. The colloquium proved to be both meaningful and fruitful, concluding successfully.

In addition, workshops and networking meetings were held, fostering active interdisciplinary exchange and deepening collaboration across research fields.

At the opening of the event, welcome remarks were delivered by Mr. Kenichi Bessho, Consul General of Japan in Munich; Professor Alexander Brem, Vice Rector for Science Transfer and International Affairs, University of Stuttgart; and Professor Kyoji Kawasaki (at the time, Vice President, Seijo University).
